When you visit Nagasaki, it is very likely the only reason why you have ever heard of this city is because of the atomic bomb. Well, surprisingly, it is a very modern city that one would never even imagine that it has gone through an explosion of that magnitude. Nagasaki is a very important port in Japan. Back in the day, when the Shogun of Japan closed the country to any foreign visitors, Nagasaki was the only port where only a small Dutch community was allowed to remain in the country. I had a great time there, and was able to go to a food festival that was happening near the Nagasaki train station. There, food and drinks were served to the public, and performers such as J-pop singers and groups of cute little girls were entertaining the crowd while creepy old men danced staring at them. It was so much fun though, a few shots of sake and some ginger mojitos, great food, and good times. Japanese people are obsessed with cuteness and innocence, I think that's why the animé industry is such a big part of their culture. ![]() I find this really interesting, temples are represented by swastika crosses, and no it has nothing to do with Nazis, this came way before that. ![]() |
