The Dead Sea is a very interesting place. It is the lowest point on Earth ( it is 422 m below sea level ) and it is one of the saltiest bodies of water that exist in the world. Its salinity increases every year and the water amount in it decreases every year. Israel, Jordan and the West bank have access to it, personally I went through Jordan's side and it was incredible. Many resorts line up in the shore and thousands of tourists show up for a night or two. I decided to stay two nights because I had finally found a sea I would be able to relax in. I have a phobia for animals that live in the Sea and I get very nervous when I don't know what is surrounding me. The Dead Sea was perfect because of the amount of salt it has in it, nothing can live in it! You can see a pointy rock on the right side. This rock has a story... The Prophet Lut used to live in this area. One day God was so angry because of the people living in this area, they were said to be homosexuals, robbers and murderers. So after the people failed a test God sent them, he flipped the land upside down. That is how it became the lowest point of Earth, and all the creatures living in it died as well. God told Lut to leave with his family and leave his wife behind because she was a sinner as well. The pointy rock is supposed to be Lut's wife... This man named Yasser, enjoying the view... The Dead Sea water has such a bizarre composition. When you taste it (only by mistake!), it feels so oily and the taste won't go away from your mouth. At a point, I forgot I was in the Dead Sea and I put my face in it... big mistake... the water is so salty, my eyes started burning. I had to be escorted by my friend to the nearest shower to make all the water come off Some Spanish tourists relaxing by the pool The Kempinski Hotel has buckets filled with mudd by the shore, so tourists can cover their bodies with it. It is supposed to be very good for the skin Here all the Spanish people posing for a picture, there is a saying if you want to have a nice trip travel with Australians... I say Spanish are as good as Australians... fun people Most of the ladies took of their top. I thought this was very funny because in Jordan it is illegal to do so... then again they are Spanish and they were just trying to have a good time. I am going to post 3 Amman pictures I really like. These were taken from the top of one of the city's mountains where Roman ruins exist. I did not get to spend a lot of time in Amman, but here are some nice pictures of the city. All 3 pictures can be best appreciated if they are enlarged... so just click on them. If you look to the left side of the picture you can see what used to be a Roman amphitheater It was originally built on 7 hills, it now spans over 19 hills |
